Pause & Reflect
Psalm 91 begins with dwelling. “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” To dwell is different from occasionally visiting. God's presence isn't meant to be something we acknowledge only during emergencies or scheduled devotional time. We are invited to live with ongoing awareness of Him. This does not mean faithful Christians are guaranteed freedom from every hardship. Scripture itself records godly people experiencing suffering. The deeper promise is that God remains our refuge. To abide means continually returning our trust to Him. When fear rises—return. When success tempts you toward independence—return. When disappointment makes you withdraw—return. When life becomes busy—return. Make God's presence your home.
Declare It Today
“The Most High is my dwelling place and refuge. I will continually return my heart to Him and cultivate awareness of His presence in every season.”
Let's Pray
Most High God, teach me to dwell with You rather than visit only when I need help. Let Your presence become the place from which I live, work, serve and respond to life. You are my refuge and my God. Amen.
