Pause & Reflect
The Spirit does more than assure believers that they belong to Christ. Paul says we have received the Spirit of adoption. Through Him we cry: “Abba! Father!” Christian salvation is not merely the cancellation of a debt. It brings us into God's family. This does not mean every believer's relationship with God will always feel emotionally close. Feelings fluctuate. Adoption is a reality grounded in God's saving action. You do not have to approach God as a terrified outsider trying to persuade Him to let you stay. In Christ, you come as His child. And the Spirit bears witness to that relationship. For women whose experiences of family have included rejection, instability or disappointment, this truth can take time to settle deeply into the heart. Let Scripture redefine family at its highest level. You have a Father. You belong in His household.
Declare It Today
“Through Christ I have been brought into God's family. The Holy Spirit assures me that I am God's child, and I will approach my Father with reverence, trust and confidence.”
Let's Pray
Abba Father, thank You for bringing me into Your family through Christ. Holy Spirit, deepen my assurance of belonging. Heal distorted ideas about fatherhood and teach me to live securely as God's daughter. Amen.
