Pause & Reflect
“One who walks with wise men grows wise.” Relationships influence direction. Not every friend must be identical to you. Healthy friendships can cross age, culture, personality and background. But your closest relationships will inevitably shape you. What becomes normal around them? Gossip? Complaining? Materialism? Compromise? Or prayer? Wisdom? Courage? Generosity? Truth? You can love everyone without giving everyone equal influence. Jesus loved crowds but maintained different levels of relational closeness. Discernment is not superiority. It is stewardship. Choose close relationships partly by asking: “Who am I becoming when I walk with these people?”
Declare It Today
“I will love people broadly while choosing close influence wisely. I desire friendships that encourage wisdom, truth, joy and faithfulness to Christ.”
Let's Pray
Father, give me discernment concerning friendships. Help me recognise relationships that strengthen godliness and give me courage to adjust unhealthy patterns where necessary. Amen.
