Pause & Reflect
Daniel distinguished himself through excellent character and work. Excellence is valuable. Perfectionism is different. Excellence says: “I will do this responsibly and well.” Perfectionism says: “If this is not flawless, I am a failure.” One produces faithful stewardship. The other often produces anxiety, procrastination or exhaustion. God does not require omnipotence from human beings. You can prepare carefully and still make mistakes. You can produce strong work without endlessly refining what is already sufficient. Know when diligence has completed its work and perfectionism has taken over.
Declare It Today
“I will pursue excellence without demanding perfection from myself. My worth is secure in Christ, so I can work well and still remain human.”
Let's Pray
Father, free me from perfectionism. Give me discernment to know when work needs improvement and when it is time to release it. Amen.
