Pause & Reflect
One of the most extraordinary truths of Christianity is contained in a name: Immanuel—God with us. God did not remain distant from the human condition. In Jesus, the eternal Son truly entered human history. He knew hunger. Weariness. Friendship. Rejection. Grief. Temptation—yet without sin. The incarnation tells us something profound about God's heart: He came near. There may be moments when God feels distant from your experience. Perhaps you wonder whether He understands the pressures, disappointments or griefs of human life. Look at Jesus. Christian hope is not built upon a God observing suffering safely from a distance. In Christ, God entered our world. And Jesus' coming was not merely to sympathise with us. He came to save. The child called Immanuel would become the crucified and risen Lord. God came near so that sinners could be brought near to God.
Declare It Today
“Jesus is Immanuel—God with us. God has not remained distant from humanity. In Christ He came near, and through Christ I am invited into relationship with Him.”
Let's Pray
Father, thank You for sending Your Son. Jesus, thank You for entering our world and coming near. When I feel alone or misunderstood, remind me of Immanuel. Help me live today with confidence in Your presence. Amen.
