Humble Yourself

Day 132

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

Philippians 2:3–8

Pause & Reflect

Paul points us to Jesus as the supreme example of humility. Though worthy of glory, Christ humbled Himself and became obedient even to death on a cross. Humility does not mean thinking you have no gifts. It does not require allowing others to mistreat you. And it does not mean pretending you are less capable than you are. Biblical humility is freedom from making yourself the centre. It allows you to celebrate someone else's success. Receive correction. Say, “I was wrong.” Serve without recognition. Learn from people. Give credit. Listen. Pride constantly asks: “How does this make me look?” Humility increasingly asks: “What would honour Christ and serve others?”

Declare It Today

“I choose the humility of Christ. I do not need to diminish myself, but neither do I need to make myself the centre. I will serve, listen and remain teachable.”

Let's Pray

Jesus, expose pride in me, especially the forms I struggle to recognise. Give me Your humility and make me secure enough in You to serve without needing constant recognition. Amen.
