Jesus Calls Ordinary Women

Day 41

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

Luke 8:1–3

Read Scripture in Context →

Pause & Reflect

Luke deliberately tells us that women travelled with Jesus and supported His ministry. Mary Magdalene. Joanna. Susanna. And many others. These women were not incidental to the gospel story. They followed Jesus, received His ministry, contributed their resources and became part of the community surrounding His mission. Later, women would also become among the first witnesses of His resurrection. This matters. Jesus sees women as disciples. Your value in God's Kingdom is not dependent upon becoming a particular kind of woman according to cultural expectations. Christ calls women from different backgrounds and circumstances to know Him, follow Him and participate faithfully in His work. Some serve publicly. Some quietly. Some through resources. Some through hospitality. Some through teaching. Some through prayer. Some through professions, parenting, business, ministry or unseen acts of faithfulness. The question is not whether your contribution resembles someone else's. It is whether you are faithfully following Jesus with what He has entrusted to you.

Declare It Today

“Jesus calls women to be His disciples. My life, gifts and resources can be offered to His purposes. I will follow Christ faithfully without measuring my calling against another woman's journey.”

Let's Pray

Jesus, thank You for seeing, welcoming and calling women to follow You. Show me how to serve faithfully in my present season. Deliver me from comparison and help me offer what You have entrusted to me with joy. Amen.
