“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.” Conviction and condemnation are not the same. Conviction identifies sin and leads us toward repentance. Condemnation declares: “There is no hope for you.” The gospel says otherwise. When you sin: Confess. Repent. Make changes. Seek accountability where necessary. But do not invent another cross upon which to punish yourself. Jesus has dealt with condemnation. The Spirit leads God's children into holiness from a new position: in Christ.
Declare It Today
“There is no condemnation for me in Christ Jesus. I will respond to conviction with repentance without returning to a verdict Christ has removed.”
Let's Pray
Holy Spirit, convict me clearly where I need correction and protect me from hopeless accusation. Keep me near the grace of Christ. Amen.
