Pause & Reflect
Jesus stood and cried: “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink!” John explains that Jesus was speaking about the Spirit. Notice the order: Thirst. Come. Drink. Then overflow. We cannot sustainably pour into others from spiritual emptiness. Christian service was never designed to be endless output without receiving from Christ. Some women become very good at giving. Giving to family. Giving at church. Giving professionally. Giving emotionally. Giving until exhaustion becomes normal. Jesus invites thirsty people first to come to Him. Receiving is not selfish when what we receive from Christ becomes life that blesses others. Before trying to become living water for everyone around you, remember: you are not the Source. Come and drink.
Declare It Today
“Jesus is my source. I will come to Him with my spiritual thirst and depend upon the Holy Spirit so that what flows from my life comes from God's supply rather than exhausted self-effort.”
Let's Pray
Jesus, I come to You thirsty. Fill the dry places in me. Holy Spirit, let Your life overflow through me, but keep me always aware that I am a vessel, not the Source. Amen.
