Saved by Grace

Day 57

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

Ephesians 2:8–10

Read Scripture in Context →

Pause & Reflect

Paul makes the order clear: saved by grace through faith → created for good works. Good works are the result of salvation, not the price of admission. That distinction matters. If our works saved us, we could boast. If our failures permanently disqualified us from grace, none of us could stand. Salvation is God’s gift. Yet grace does not leave us unchanged. The same passage that says we are not saved by works says we are created in Christ Jesus for good works. Grace is neither legalism nor spiritual laziness. We don't obey so God will finally love us. We obey because in Christ we have received a salvation we could never earn. That produces gratitude. And gratitude begins to produce a transformed life.

Declare It Today

“I am saved by grace through faith, not by my own works. I cannot boast in myself. Because I belong to Christ, I will walk in the good works God has prepared for me.”

Let's Pray

Father, thank You for the gift of salvation. Protect me from self-righteousness and from taking grace lightly. Let gratitude for what You have done produce joyful obedience and good works in my life. Amen.
