Pause & Reflect
Forgiveness is not pretending that the offence was insignificant. It is not denying grief. It is not automatically restoring trust. And it does not mean allowing someone continued access to harm you. Biblical forgiveness begins with remembering how deeply we ourselves have been forgiven by Christ. That grace becomes the foundation from which we release personal vengeance. Sometimes forgiveness is immediate. Sometimes it is a process in which the decision must be reaffirmed repeatedly as the wound heals. You may still need boundaries. You may still need truth. You may still need consequences. But bitterness cannot become your permanent home. Forgiveness does not call evil good. It refuses to let evil own the rest of your heart.
Declare It Today
“Because Christ has forgiven me, I choose the way of forgiveness. I can release vengeance while still walking in truth, wisdom and appropriate boundaries.”
Let's Pray
Father, You know the wounds I carry. Give me grace to forgive without denying what happened. Give me wisdom concerning boundaries and healing for the places that still hurt. Amen.
