When Jealousy Enters the Heart

Day 268

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

James 3:14–18

Read Scripture in Context →

Pause & Reflect

James warns about bitter jealousy and selfish ambition. Jealousy rarely announces itself honestly. It may appear as criticism. Suddenly everything she does irritates you. You minimise her achievement. Question her motives. Feel strangely pleased when something goes wrong. Jealousy reveals an internal belief: “There isn't enough goodness to go around.” Godly wisdom produces something different. Peace. Gentleness. Mercy. Sincerity. When jealousy appears, don't merely condemn yourself. Investigate it. What am I afraid her success says about me? What do I believe I am lacking? Bring that insecurity to God. Her light does not extinguish yours.

Declare It Today

“I reject jealousy and selfish ambition. I do not need another woman to become smaller for me to walk confidently in what God has given me.”

Let's Pray

Father, expose envy without allowing shame to hide it. Heal insecurity and teach me to celebrate others while faithfully cultivating what You have entrusted to me. Amen.
