Pause & Reflect

Pentecost marks an extraordinary moment in God's redemptive story. The promised Spirit was poured out. The disciples spoke as the Spirit enabled them. Peter proclaimed Christ. People were convicted. Thousands responded to the gospel. And a new community emerged devoted to teaching, fellowship, breaking bread and prayer. Pentecost is more than a dramatic spiritual event. It propels the Church into mission. The Spirit creates a people centred upon Jesus and empowered to carry the gospel across cultural and geographical boundaries. This matters for our understanding of Christian community. We are not saved merely into private spirituality. We become part of Christ's people. We need Scripture. Fellowship. Prayer. Worship. Service. Mission. The Spirit who dwells within individual believers also forms us into a body. You were never intended to follow Jesus entirely alone.

Declare It Today

“The Holy Spirit forms and empowers Christ's Church. I am not called to isolated Christianity; I will participate faithfully in biblical community and God's mission.”

Let's Pray

Holy Spirit, strengthen Your Church. Make us Christ-centred, biblically grounded, prayerful, loving and courageous in mission. Show me how to contribute faithfully to the body of Christ. Amen.
