Pause & Reflect
Jesus' conversation with the Samaritan woman moved beyond debates about the correct geographical location for worship. The Father seeks worshippers who worship in spirit and truth. Worship is larger than music. Songs can express worship beautifully, but worship encompasses a life responding to God for who He truly is. Truth matters because we do not worship a God of our own imagination. We worship the God who has revealed Himself. And genuine worship reaches beyond external performance into the heart. You can sing without worshipping. You can also worship while working, serving, giving, obeying, praying or quietly thanking God. The question becomes: Does my life increasingly declare that God is worthy? Worship moves our attention away from making ourselves the centre and restores God to His rightful place.
Declare It Today
“God alone is worthy of my worship. I will worship Him according to truth and offer Him more than songs—I will honour Him with my heart, choices and life.”
Let's Pray
Father, make me a true worshipper. Guard me from empty religious performance and deepen my understanding of who You are. May my words, decisions, work and relationships increasingly honour You. In Jesus' name, amen.
