Pause & Reflect
Peter writes to believers experiencing suffering and tells them: “The God of all grace... after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore, establish, strengthen, and settle you.” Scripture never requires us to call suffering pleasant. But it repeatedly refuses to give suffering permanence. Peter points beyond the present season. God restores. Establishes. Strengthens. Settles. Sometimes restoration occurs within this earthly life. Sometimes we experience only part of it here. Christian hope ultimately reaches into resurrection and new creation. Either way, suffering does not receive the final sentence. The God of all grace does.
Declare It Today
“My suffering is not sovereign over my future. The God of all grace is able to restore, establish, strengthen and settle me.”
Let's Pray
