Pause & Reflect
In the synagogue at Nazareth, Jesus read Isaiah's words: “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.” Jesus then announced that the Scripture was fulfilled. His mission reveals the heart of God's Kingdom. Good news. Freedom. Sight. Grace. Restoration. Jesus did not come merely to make religious people more comfortable. His ministry moved toward people in need. And those who follow Him are invited into that mission. Our calling will never be identical to Christ's unique saving mission, but His priorities should shape ours. A Spirit-filled life should make us increasingly attentive to people, not increasingly self-absorbed. The question isn't only: “What has God anointed me to achieve?” A better question is: “How can what God has entrusted to me serve His purposes and bless others?”
Declare It Today
“Jesus came with good news and Kingdom purpose. I will not make God's gifts merely about my own advancement. I offer my life, abilities and opportunities for His glory and the good of others.”
Let's Pray
Lord Jesus, align my priorities with Yours. Holy Spirit, empower me to serve faithfully. Show me the people and needs I am tempted to overlook, and teach me to use what You have entrusted to me for Kingdom purposes. Amen.
