Arise, Deborah

Day 222

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

Judges 4:4–9

Read Scripture in Context →

Pause & Reflect

Deborah appears in Scripture as both prophetess and judge. People came to her for judgment, and she played a decisive role in Israel's deliverance. Her story reminds us that courage, wisdom and leadership are not contrary to godly womanhood. Deborah did not need to become less capable in order to honour God. She needed to use her capacity faithfully. Leadership itself is not holiness. A person can lead badly. What matters is whether influence is submitted to God and used responsibly. If God has entrusted you with leadership, do not apologise for having capacity. Develop it. Use it wisely. Lead humbly. Listen well. Seek truth. And remember that authority is stewardship, not ownership.

Declare It Today

“I will not shrink from responsibilities God has genuinely entrusted to me. I can lead with courage, wisdom, humility and dependence upon Him.”

Let's Pray

Father, give me Deborah's courage without pride. Teach me to steward influence wisely and use authority for truth, justice and the good of others. Amen.
