Pause & Reflect
Jesus' image is unforgettable. We notice a speck in another person's eye while carrying a beam in our own. He does not say the speck does not matter. He says: Deal honestly with yourself first. Before entering conflict, ask: What part have I played? Did I communicate clearly? Did I assume motives? Was my tone unnecessarily harsh? Am I reacting to this situation—or to something older? Do I want reconciliation, or simply to win? Self-examination does not mean automatically taking blame for what another person did. Sometimes you genuinely did nothing wrong. But humility makes us willing to check. A woman who can say: “I was wrong about that” possesses strength.
Declare It Today
“I will examine my own heart before rushing to correct another person. Humility does not weaken truth; it makes me more capable of carrying truth wisely.”
Let's Pray
Jesus, show me my part in relational conflict. Keep me from false guilt, but also from pride that refuses correction. Make me quick to repent when I am wrong. Amen.
