Pause & Reflect
Anna's life contained loss. She had been widowed after only seven years of marriage. Yet Luke introduces us to an elderly woman whose life had become deeply oriented toward God. She worshipped. Fasted. Prayed. Waited. Then one day, after years of ordinary faithfulness, she saw the infant Jesus. Anna reminds us that hidden years are not wasted years. Our culture celebrates rapid achievement. Scripture repeatedly celebrates endurance. Perhaps your current season feels repetitive. Prayer. Work. Service. Waiting. Again tomorrow. Do not underestimate what God forms through decades of quiet faithfulness. Anna did not know which ordinary day would become extraordinary. She simply remained devoted.
Declare It Today
“I will not despise hidden or repetitive seasons. A life of quiet faithfulness before God is never insignificant.”
Let's Pray
Father, give me Anna's perseverance. Keep my heart tender through long seasons and help me remain devoted even when I cannot yet see what You are preparing. Amen.
