Magnify the Lord

Day 235

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

Luke 1:46–55

Read Scripture in Context →

Pause & Reflect

Mary's response to God's work became worship: “My soul magnifies the Lord.” Her song is saturated with Scripture and with the character of God. She praises His holiness. Mercy. Power. Faithfulness. Justice. Mary's worship reveals something important: When the Word of God fills the heart, it becomes language for worship. What fills your mind will eventually shape what comes out of your mouth. Mary's circumstances were still complicated. Yet she deliberately magnified God. To magnify the Lord does not mean making God bigger. He cannot become greater than He is. It means bringing His greatness into clearer view. Sometimes anxiety magnifies the problem. Worship magnifies God.

Declare It Today

“My soul will magnify the Lord. I will intentionally remember His holiness, mercy, power and faithfulness until His greatness becomes larger in my perspective than my fear.”

Let's Pray

Father, fill my heart with Your Word until worship becomes a natural response. When problems dominate my attention, help me remember who You are. Amen.
