Pause & Reflect
Mary Magdalene stood outside the tomb weeping. Then Jesus spoke her name. “Mary.” Grief turned toward recognition. The risen Christ then entrusted her with a message: “Go to my brothers and tell them...” A woman became one of the first witnesses commissioned to announce the resurrection to Jesus' disciples. That matters. Christian faith rests upon the risen Christ. And Scripture openly records women among the first witnesses of the empty tomb. Mary's devotion brought her to the tomb while she still believed death had won. Then Jesus transformed mourning into testimony. Sometimes God meets us while we are still crying. The tears do not mean He is absent.
Declare It Today
“Jesus Christ is risen. Grief does not have the final word, and I will carry the hope of the resurrection into the places where darkness appears strongest.”
Let's Pray
Risen Jesus, call me again into resurrection hope. Meet me in grief and make my life a faithful witness that death does not possess the final word. Amen.
