Pause & Reflect
Paul writes: “It is acceptable according to what you have, not according to what you don't have.” That sentence protects generosity from distortion. God does not ask you to pretend you possess resources you do not have. Generosity is not a competition. Nor should Christian giving create unnecessary financial performance. Some seasons allow abundant giving. Other seasons may require receiving help. Both require humility. Give according to your capacity. And when your capacity increases, allow generosity to increase with it.
Declare It Today
“I will give faithfully according to what God has entrusted to me, without comparison, pretence or financial performance.”
Let's Pray
Father, give me wisdom concerning my capacity. Make me generous when I can give and humble when I need to receive. Amen.
