Godliness With Contentment

Day 288

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

1 Timothy 6:6–10

Read Scripture in Context →

Pause & Reflect

“Godliness with contentment is great gain.” More is an endless target. A larger house. Another purchase. Higher income. Greater recognition. There is nothing inherently wrong with growth or improvement. But when contentment is always postponed until the next acquisition, it never arrives. Paul warns not against money itself, but against the love of money. Money becomes dangerous when it promises identity, security or satisfaction only God can provide. Contentment does not eliminate ambition. It purifies it. You can work toward more while still thanking God for what you have today.

Declare It Today

“My contentment is rooted in God, not endless accumulation. I can pursue wise growth without allowing desire for more to rule my heart.”

Let's Pray

Father, expose greed and comparison in me. Teach me gratitude for today while giving me wisdom about tomorrow. Amen.
