Grow in Grace

Day 149

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

2 Peter 3:17–18

Read Scripture in Context →

Pause & Reflect

Peter closes his letter with a simple instruction: “Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” Growth is expected. But notice the soil: Grace. Christian maturity is not becoming less dependent upon grace because you have learned more. It is becoming increasingly aware of how deeply grace sustains everything. You grow in knowledge. Character. Discernment. Faithfulness. But grace remains underneath it all. This protects us from spiritual pride. The woman who has followed Christ for thirty years still comes to Him by grace. Growth should therefore make us more teachable, not less. More grateful. More aware of our need for Christ. And increasingly able to extend grace to others.

Declare It Today

“I will continue growing in both grace and the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Maturity will not make me self-sufficient; it will make me more dependent upon Him.”

Let's Pray

Jesus, keep me growing. Protect me from spiritual stagnation and pride. Deepen my knowledge of You and let grace increasingly shape the way I live and treat others. Amen. Replacement 4 — Canonical Day 231 Old: For Such a Time as This — Esther Issue: Duplicates Day 210 substantially.
