Pause & Reflect
Paul does not say money is the root of all evil. He warns about the love of money. Money is a tool. But tools can become masters. Ask what money represents to you. Security? Status? Control? Freedom? Approval? Power? The heart can worship money whether a person has much or little. Greed is not limited to wealthy people. Neither is generosity limited to them. Money becomes spiritually dangerous when obtaining or keeping it becomes more important than obedience.
Declare It Today
“Money will remain a servant, not my master. My security, identity and worth are rooted in God rather than possessions.”
Let's Pray
Father, expose unhealthy attachments to money in my heart. Teach me to use resources without allowing resources to rule me. Amen.
