It Is More Blessed to Give

Day 333

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

Acts 20:32–35

Pause & Reflect

Paul recalls Jesus' words: “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Receiving is also a gift. There are seasons when humility requires allowing others to help us. But Jesus teaches that there is unique blessing in giving. Generosity breaks the illusion that happiness is found only in acquiring. An open hand can enjoy what comes into it without desperately clutching everything that arrives. You may discover that some of life's richest memories involve what you gave rather than what you bought. The person helped. The opportunity created. The meal shared. The child supported. The Kingdom work strengthened. Open hands are free hands.

Declare It Today

“I choose an open-handed life. I will learn both to receive with gratitude and to give with joy.”

Let's Pray

Jesus, make me increasingly generous. Free me from fear that says I must clutch everything tightly in order to be secure. Amen.
