Jesus Sees the One

Day 45

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

Mark 5:25–34

Read Scripture in Context →

Pause & Reflect

A crowd surrounded Jesus. Yet He noticed one woman. For twelve years she had suffered. Mark tells us she had endured much treatment, spent what she had and grown worse rather than better. She reached toward Jesus believing He could help. When she touched His garment, Jesus stopped. He did more than heal her anonymously in the crowd. He brought her forward and addressed her personally: “Daughter...” Jesus saw more than a medical condition. He saw a person. This passage should never be used to suggest that people who remain ill simply lack sufficient faith. Scripture gives us no permission for that cruel conclusion. Instead, the story reveals Christ's compassion and authority—and His attention to a woman who could easily have disappeared into the crowd. You are never merely a problem Jesus must solve. He sees the person.

Declare It Today

“Jesus sees me as a person, not merely as a need or problem. I can approach Him honestly and trust His compassion while submitting my circumstances to His wisdom.”

Let's Pray

Jesus, thank You for seeing people others may overlook. Meet me with Your compassion in the places where I am weary or hurting. Give me faith to approach You without turning faith into a demand that You must answer in one particular way. Amen.
