Martha’s Growing Faith

Martha is sometimes remembered only as the distracted sister. John shows us something more. After Lazarus died, Martha went out to meet Jesus and entered into a profound theological conversation with Him. She confessed: “I believe that you are the Christ, God's Son.” Martha was growing. One moment in Luke did not define her forever. Neither should one immature season define you. Discipleship means people develop. The woman who was once overwhelmed by serving became the woman confessing Christ in the middle of grief. Give yourself room to grow. Give other people room too. God is not finished with His disciples after their weakest recorded moment.
