Open Your Hands to the Needy

Day 204

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

Proverbs 31:20

Read Scripture in Context →

Pause & Reflect

“She opens her arms to the poor; yes, she extends her hands to the needy.” The Proverbs 31 woman's productivity does not terminate on herself. Her hands work—and then her hands open. This is an important picture of prosperity and stewardship. The biblical goal is not simply accumulation. Resources create opportunities to bless. Generosity is not limited to wealthy people. You may have money to give. Time. Food. Knowledge. Encouragement. Connections. Practical help. Hospitality. Generosity asks: “What has God placed in my hands that could become provision for someone else?” Wise generosity also needs discernment. Helping should seek genuine good rather than creating harmful dependence. But fear of imperfect giving should not become an excuse for closed hands.

Declare It Today

“God has blessed me so that I can become a blessing. I will cultivate open hands and use my resources with compassion, wisdom and generosity.”

Let's Pray

Father, protect my heart from selfish accumulation. Show me where I can give meaningfully and give me wisdom to help in ways that preserve dignity and produce genuine good. Amen.
