Patient With People

Day 163

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

Ephesians 4:1–3

Read Scripture in Context →

Pause & Reflect

Paul tells believers to walk with humility, gentleness and patience, bearing with one another in love. People require patience because people are unfinished. So are you. Relationships bring us into contact with differences in personality, maturity, communication, habits and expectations. Patience does not mean tolerating abuse or refusing healthy boundaries. It means giving people appropriate room to grow without demanding instant perfection. How easily do you become irritated when someone does not move at your preferred speed? How quickly do you label a person based on one weakness? Remember how patiently God has dealt with you. Grace received should become grace extended.

Declare It Today

“I will remember that people are still growing, just as I am. By the Holy Spirit's power, I choose patience, humility and appropriate grace in my relationships.”

Let's Pray

Father, make me patient with people without making me unwise about harmful behaviour. Help me distinguish between weaknesses requiring grace and situations requiring boundaries. Amen. KINDNESS & GOODNESS
