Pause & Reflect
Jesus expanded our understanding of family. He pointed toward those doing God's will and described them using family language. The gospel creates a new household. Brothers. Sisters. Fathers. Mothers. Children in the faith. This does not erase biological family. Scripture still takes natural family responsibilities seriously. But it means biology is not the only place belonging can be found. For women from fractured families, this can be especially significant. In Christ, God forms a people. Church should therefore become more than attending a service beside strangers. We belong to one another. That means celebrating. Serving. Sharing burdens. Showing up. Forgiving. Learning across generations. Spiritual family becomes visible through practical love.
Declare It Today
“Through Christ, I belong to the family of God. I will not merely attend Christian community; I will learn to participate in it through love, service and faithful relationships.”
Let's Pray
Father, teach Your church to live as family. Help me receive the belonging You provide and show me how I can help someone else experience it too. Amen.
