“The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom.” Biblical wisdom begins with recognising reality correctly: God is God. We are not. Wisdom is more than intelligence. A person can be academically brilliant and make disastrously foolish choices. Wisdom asks how truth should shape life. How should I speak? Spend? Respond? Choose relationships? Handle success? Manage conflict? Use influence? Approach temptation? The fear of the Lord places every decision under God’s authority. Instead of asking only: “What can I do?” wisdom asks: “What should I do before God?” That shift can change an entire life.
Declare It Today
“True wisdom begins with reverence for God. I will bring my decisions under His authority rather than treating my intelligence or preferences as sufficient.”
Let's Pray
Lord, teach me wisdom. Let reverence for You become the starting point for my decisions, relationships and ambitions. Deliver me from cleverness without godly understanding. Amen.
