Pause & Reflect
Jesus told His exhausted disciples: “Come away... and rest awhile.” Mothers and caregivers can become skilled at noticing everyone else's needs while ignoring their own limits. Meals. Appointments. School. Work. Church. Housework. Emotional needs. Administration. Another person always needs something. Self-sacrifice is part of love. But permanent depletion is not a spiritual achievement. You are a human being, not an unlimited resource. Rest where possible. Ask for help. Receive support. Eat. Sleep. Pray. Take appropriate time away. Caring for yourself is not the same as making yourself the centre of everything. Sometimes it is stewardship that enables you to continue loving others well.
Declare It Today
“I accept my God-given human limits. I will care for others sacrificially without treating exhaustion as proof of godliness.”
Let's Pray
Jesus, give me wisdom concerning my limits. Show me where I need rest, help or healthier rhythms, and free me from guilt about receiving appropriate care. Amen. MARRIAGE & SINGLENESS
