Pause & Reflect
Jesus used the example of someone building a tower who first sits down and calculates the cost. His primary teaching concerns discipleship, but the illustration assumes something wise: Count the cost before beginning. Planning is not unbelief. A budget can be an act of stewardship. Before committing financially, ask: Can I afford this? What ongoing costs follow? What am I giving up to obtain it? Am I responding to need, wisdom—or pressure? Faith does not require pretending numbers do not exist. Prayer and practical calculation can sit comfortably together.
Declare It Today
“I will make financial decisions prayerfully and thoughtfully. I choose wise planning over impulsiveness and appearance-driven spending.”
Let's Pray
Father, give me wisdom before financial commitments. Help me count costs honestly and make decisions consistent with my responsibilities and values. Amen.
