Develop What God Has Given You

Day 296

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

1 Timothy 4:14–16

Pause & Reflect

Paul told Timothy: “Don't neglect the gift that is in you.” A gift from God can still require development. Calling does not eliminate training. Anointing does not make preparation unnecessary. Talent is not an excuse for carelessness. If God has given you an ability to teach, learn to handle Scripture accurately. If you lead, develop leadership wisdom. If you write, practise writing. If you run a business, understand the business. If you sing, train your voice. If you mentor, keep growing yourself. Sometimes we pray for enlargement while neglecting the capacity required to carry it. Stewardship asks: “How can I become more skilful with what God has already entrusted to me?” Development is not unbelief. It can be worship.

Declare It Today

“I will not neglect the gifts God has entrusted to me. I choose disciplined development so I can serve with increasing skill, maturity and faithfulness.”

Let's Pray

Father, show me where my gifts need development. Give me humility to learn, discipline to practise and wisdom to pursue excellence without pride. Amen.
