Pause & Reflect
“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me.” Jesus connects the Holy Spirit's power with mission. The Spirit does not empower us merely to have impressive spiritual experiences. He empowers God's people to bear witness to Christ. Witness happens in different ways. Speaking about Jesus. Living with integrity. Explaining the gospel. Showing compassion. Answering questions. Refusing compromise. Praying for someone. Sometimes witness requires courage because following Christ may make you different from the people around you. You do not need to manufacture boldness from personality. Ask the Holy Spirit. The same Spirit who empowered the early church still equips believers to make Christ known.
Declare It Today
“The Holy Spirit empowers me to bear witness to Jesus. I will not allow fear of people to silence the truth God has entrusted to me.”
Let's Pray
Holy Spirit, give me wisdom and courage to represent Jesus faithfully. Open natural opportunities to speak about Him and help my life support the message my mouth proclaims. Amen.
