Know When to Be Silent

Day 194

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

Ecclesiastes 3:7

Read Scripture in Context →

Pause & Reflect

There is: “a time to keep silence, and a time to speak.” Wisdom requires both. Some women have been silenced in situations where they needed courage to speak. Others have spoken into situations where silence would have been wiser. Biblical wisdom refuses a simplistic rule. There is a time to advocate. A time to confront. A time to ask questions. A time to testify. A time to defend someone vulnerable. And there is also a time to stop arguing. A time not to share the information. A time not to respond to provocation. A time to listen. A time to wait until emotions settle. Silence can be fear. But silence can also be strength. Speech can be courage. But speech can also be impulsiveness. Ask God for discernment.

Declare It Today

“I will not speak merely because I can, nor remain silent merely because I am afraid. I will seek God’s wisdom concerning when to speak and when to be still.”

Let's Pray

Father, give me discernment over my voice. Give me courage when truth requires speech and self-control when wisdom requires silence. Amen.
