Pause & Reflect
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” Words matter. A sentence spoken in seconds can remain in someone’s memory for decades. Parents shape children through words. Leaders shape teams through words. Friends can strengthen or wound through words. And the words we repeatedly speak about ourselves also shape our thinking. This does not mean our words magically create reality. Scripture is not teaching verbal sorcery. It is teaching the tremendous moral power speech possesses. Use that power carefully. Tell the truth. Encourage sincerely. Correct wisely. Refuse gossip. Apologise when your words wound. Speak courage into people without flattering them falsely. Words are entrusted power. Use them for life.
Declare It Today
“My words have influence, and I will steward them carefully. I choose truth, encouragement and wisdom rather than gossip, manipulation or destructive speech.”
Let's Pray
Father, sanctify my tongue. Show me where my words repeatedly harm others and teach me to use speech as an instrument of truth, encouragement and grace. Amen.
