Pause & Reflect
Mary received an extraordinary announcement. Her future would not unfold as she had expected. She asked a reasonable question: “How can this be?” Faith does not forbid questions. But after receiving the angel's explanation, Mary responded: “Behold, the servant of the Lord; let it be done to me according to your word.” That is surrender. She did not know every difficulty ahead. She could not see Bethlehem. Egypt. The years of raising Jesus. The cross. She simply knew the next act of obedience. We often want God to reveal the entire journey before we agree to take the first step. Mary teaches us another posture: “I belong to the Lord.” Surrender begins there.
Declare It Today
“I belong to God. I do not need to understand every future detail before I obey what He has made clear.”
Let's Pray
Father, give me Mary's surrendered heart. Help me ask honest questions without allowing uncertainty to become disobedience. Let Your Word have authority over my plans. Amen.
