Set Apart for God

Day 122

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

Pause & Reflect

God says: “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” Holiness can sound intimidating because we sometimes reduce it to a list of things Christians must avoid. But holiness begins with belonging. To be holy is to be set apart for God. Because you belong to Him, every part of life comes under His loving authority. Your thoughts. Relationships. Sexuality. Money. Speech. Entertainment. Ambitions. Private choices. Holiness is not punishment for becoming a Christian. It is part of the freedom Christ purchased for us. Sin promises freedom while gradually becoming a master. God calls us away from what destroys and toward the life for which we were created. The standard of holiness is not another Christian woman's lifestyle. It is God's character.

Declare It Today

“I belong to God and am called to holiness. I will not measure my life merely against other people; I will allow God's character and Word to shape me.”

Let's Pray

Holy God, thank You that I belong to You. Reveal areas of compromise in my life and give me grace to pursue holiness without legalism, pride or fear. Amen.
