Speak the Truth in Love

Day 257

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

Ephesians 4:15, 25–32

Pause & Reflect

Healthy relationships require truthful communication. Some people emphasise truth while neglecting love. Others emphasise peace while avoiding necessary truth. Scripture joins them: “Speaking truth in love.” That means saying what is true without using truth as a weapon. It means addressing problems before resentment quietly grows. It means listening rather than preparing your defence while the other person speaks. It means refusing manipulation. Sarcasm. Contempt. Silent punishment. Gossip disguised as concern. Communication is not merely exchanging words. It is learning to understand and be understood. Before a difficult conversation, ask: Is it true? Is it necessary? Is this the right time? Can I say it with dignity? Am I willing to listen too?

Declare It Today

“I will pursue truthful and loving communication. I refuse both dishonest peacekeeping and unnecessary harshness.”

Let's Pray

Holy Spirit, govern my conversations. Give me truth without cruelty, courage without aggression and humility enough to listen as carefully as I speak. Amen.
