Pause & Reflect
“She arms her waist with strength, and makes her arms strong.” The Proverbs 31 woman is not passive. She develops capacity. There are seasons when God may call you to become stronger. Spiritually. Emotionally. Intellectually. Professionally. Practically. Sometimes we pray for God to enlarge our opportunities while ignoring the development necessary to carry them. Strength may require learning. Training. Healing. Practising. Building better systems. Developing discipline. Getting help. Restoring health where possible. Seeking mentorship. Growing in Scripture. Capacity is stewardship. You do not need to become capable of everything. You need appropriate strength for what God has entrusted to you. And remember: strength includes knowing when you need help.
Declare It Today
“I will intentionally develop the capacity needed for the responsibilities God has entrusted to me. I reject both laziness and the pressure to become capable of everything.”
Let's Pray
Father, show me where I need to grow stronger for the season ahead. Give me discipline to develop, humility to learn and wisdom to recognise my limits. Amen. Movement 7 progress Days 182–196 complete. We have established: Fear of the Lord → worth → identity → belovedness → strength and dignity → inner beauty → freedom from approval → wisdom → wise influence → wise speech → life-giving words → discernment → trustworthiness → strength. Next, Days 197–212 complete A Woman After God’s Heart with the other dimensions we deliberately wanted in our Proverbs 31 treatment: diligence • enterprise/business • work as worship • stewardship • planning • rest • home and relationships • compassion • hospitality • sisterhood • mentoring • influence • courage concerning the future • legacy • praise rooted in the fear of the Lord. And importantly, Day 198 — Consider the Field — will allow us to deal directly with the often-overlooked fact that the Proverbs 31 woman evaluates and purchases property and engages economically, while still keeping business under wisdom, stewardship and the fear of God. Movement 7 — A Woman After God’s Heart Master Devotionals: Days 197–212 We now complete this movement by taking godly character into everyday stewardship: work, business, money, home, generosity, relationships, influence and legacy.
