Pause & Reflect
David invites us: “Taste and see that Yahweh is good.” God's goodness is not merely a theological proposition to memorise. It is something His people increasingly discover as they walk with Him. Yet believing God is good can become difficult when life isn't. Loss can hurt. Prayer can seem unanswered. People can disappoint us. Circumstances can leave us asking questions for which we have no immediate explanation. Biblical faith doesn't require us to call painful things good. Instead, it teaches us that God remains good even in a world where painful things happen. The cross itself becomes our deepest evidence. God did not remain distant from human suffering. In Christ, He entered it and accomplished redemption through what appeared to be catastrophic defeat. So when you cannot measure God's goodness by today's circumstances, look again at His character and ultimately at Christ.
Declare It Today
“The Lord is good. I will not define His character solely by today's circumstances. I will remember His goodness, seek refuge in Him and trust His heart even when life is difficult.”
Let's Pray
Good Father, teach me to recognise Your goodness. When pain or disappointment clouds my perspective, keep my heart anchored in what You have revealed about Yourself. Thank You above all for Your goodness displayed through Jesus Christ. Amen.
