Pause & Reflect
Jesus called the Holy Spirit the Spirit of truth. That means the Spirit's work and truth can never be separated. We live in a culture filled with competing claims about identity, morality, success, relationships, spirituality and God Himself. Some ideas sound compassionate. Some sound empowering. Some are repeated so often that questioning them feels strange. But popularity does not determine truth. Neither does emotion. The Holy Spirit leads God's people according to truth. And He has given us Scripture as the authoritative standard by which teaching and spiritual claims are tested. This requires humility. Sometimes truth will correct the culture around us. Sometimes it will correct us. A woman who loves truth must be willing to let God's Word challenge what she already wants to believe. Do not merely ask God to confirm your opinions. Ask Him to transform your thinking.
Declare It Today
“The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth. I will submit my beliefs, assumptions and desires to God's Word and welcome correction wherever I am not aligned with truth.”
Let's Pray
Spirit of truth, guard me from deception. Give me discernment in a world of competing voices. Expose falsehood in my thinking and give me humility to receive truth even when it challenges me. Amen.
