Pause & Reflect
“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord.” Some work feels obviously spiritual. Teaching Scripture. Serving at church. Praying with someone. Other work feels ordinary. Spreadsheets. Cleaning. Meetings. Cooking. Administration. Caring for children. Studying. Serving customers. Yet Scripture refuses to divide life neatly into sacred and secular. Work done faithfully before God can become worship. That does not mean every workplace is healthy or every job must become your calling. Sometimes wisdom means leaving harmful employment. But while a responsibility is genuinely yours, Christ changes the audience. You ultimately work before Him. That can bring dignity to ordinary tasks and integrity to unseen ones.
Declare It Today
“Whatever legitimate work God has placed before me, I will seek to do it wholeheartedly. My work can honour Christ even when nobody applauds it.”
Let's Pray
Lord Jesus, become the ultimate audience for my work. Give me excellence without perfectionism, diligence without striving and integrity when nobody is watching. Amen.
